个人情况介绍
Prof Xia Zezhong received his Master degree from Wuhan University of Technology and PhD degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, all in Automation. He was a PhD candidate in electronics at University of the West of England, UK. He obtained professional trainings and experiences in design, manufacture and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems, quality control and R&D team management.
His multi-disciplined experience in industry and academy with state enterprises, private companies and universities at home and abroad includes positions as an engineer and research engineer and later senior engineer in the design of mechanical, electrical and electronic control systems, and development of various industrial electronic utilities. Prof Xia is a member of the IEEE, and a member of the China Electrotechnical Society.
Prof Xia was a visiting scientist in Queen Marry University of London, UK, and Brunel University, UK, in 1999-2000. He joined the faculty of Engineering at University of the West of England, UK, in 2000-2002, where he worked as a research engineer in a cooperative program with TMS company, UK. Currently he is a professor at Automation Institute of WUT and a director of the research group of power electronics and electric drives. He is now teaching the modules of modern power electronics, power electronics and electric drives. He has supervised 36 MSc graduates, 15 MEng graduates and several oversea graduates. His current research interests are digital control of power electronic systems, intelligent control and its industrial applications, distributed real-time control systems and embedded systems.

Control system with train control networks and multifunction vehicle bus
Measuring and tracking control system for micro tunneling robot
Design of a motion control system for ceramic freeform fabrication process
Research on DSP based robust control for high-speed motion system
Predictive control for a computer controlled rubber additives batching system
Current program development:
Power converters for battery management system
Multi-axes synchronous motion control system
Distributed control system based on field bus and wireless sensor networks
